The Shoop dog siblings always find a way to wreak havoc and bring entertainment to the family.

Charlie is the adorable Black Lab stationed on the left, and Izzy, the cutie on the right, is a Shar Pei Lab mix.

A lifetime of Nicknames

During this series of dog posts I will refer to Charlie and Izzy by their many nicknames. When Izzy joined our family, new nicknames were coined everyday! We have had Izzy for about ten years, meaning we've had ten years of nicknames lined up. Along with her given name we've expanded to referring to her as "Izard" (rhyming with lizard), "Cutie" and "Iz." Charlie is the newest addition to our family. He became a member a little over two years ago. For the first day of Charlie's life as a Shoop, he wasn't named Charlie, his name was Oliver! After a day of getting to know the little dude, we realized Oliver and Olly, did not fit the poochie's personality. We landed on my brother's suggestion, Charlie. Similar to Izzy, Charlie has plenty of nicknames to cover all of his moods and actions. When Charlie is being less than stellar, he is referred to as Charles. Charles seems much more stern and professional compared to Charlie. Charlie is no longer a tiny dog, so he has graduated from "little dude" to just "dude." When I need Charles to come towards me, you can hear a "come here bud" echo through the house.

I spent some time this busy holiday month reading through your past blogs and it truly brightened my day. Thank You for reminding me that there is simple brightness in our daily routines and staying positive is so important. Please continue to share your thoughts and when ever the world is beating me up I will turn to your post for some comfort. Say Hi & Pet Charlie and Izzy for me. -Love
